It was founded in 1992. Starting to operate with 3 busses when it was first founded, Metro Tourism grew by adding new busses into its fleet every day and without compromising its quality service concept. Breaking grounds in the sector, Metro Tourism abandoned the amateur approaches in transportation and took great steps towards institutionalization. Starting with the route between Ankara-Istanbul, the company today delivers services in every city across Turkey with 1,835 trips and carries more than 20 million passengers a year. As the largest road passenger transportation company in Turkey in terms of the size of turnover and the number of carried passengers, Metro Tourism Holding is the affiliate of the Holding, 99.70% of the shares of which are owned by the Holding.

Metro Tourism has a total of 1,100 buses in its fleet, more than 400 of which are self-owned. Metro Tourism has a significant advantage over its competitors, thanks to 1.048 active agencies across Turkey and the network of domestic and foreign ticket sales equipped with 24/7 on-line ticket sales and call-center services. In addition, it renders inner-city transportation services to its passengers with 400 shuttle service busses. Some of the overseas trips include Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Nakhichevan-Azerbaijan, Baghdad-Iran and Germany connected Sofia.
